The powerful, versatile and fuel-efficient S374 tractor was the centre of attention at Valtrac’s Nampo stand.

Finland’s Valtra, which has been manufacturing tractors for more than 60 years, is one of the world’s most recognised tractor brands. Since 2004 it has been part of the AGCO Group.

According to the company, its main strength has always been its willingness to listen to customers. Surveys have shown that buyers choose Valtra tractors primarily for their
reliability, low operating costs and high return on investment.

The five models in the S4 range are fitted with six-cylinder 8,4-litre AGCO Power engines
rated from 199kW in the S274 to 272kW in the flagship S374. Maximum torque, with boost, is a massive 1 600Nm.

The new S374 has been enhanced by the stepless AGCO variable transmission, known for
its versatility and fuel efficiency. Valtra’s patented TwinTrac reverse-drive system enables
the S-series tractors to work effectively in both directions.

Switching to the reverse-driving position is quick and easy.

An adjustable steering column is located at the rear of the cab along with an accelerator
pedal, brake pedal and ‘clutch’ pedal. All the other controls are on the Valtra ARM driver’s
armrest, which rotates 180° with the driver’s seat.

The new SmartTouch armrest and user interface won an iF Design Award this year
against competition from more than 6 400 entries. All controls are positioned logically and within easy reach. Close attention has been paid to ergonomics, user comfort and ease of use.

The tractor is supplied with four-point pneumatic cab suspension as standard, resulting
in an excellent ride under the most difficult conditions. The AutoComfort feature allows the
driver to adjust the suspension to suit personal preference.

Also standard is a front linkage with a 5t capacity. The rear linkage has a 12t lifting
capacity and the hydraulics are more than a match for the most sophisticated implements.
