Nomination and selection procedure

The nomination process for the Africa Food Prize starts with nominations being sent to the Africa Food Prize Secretariat. The Africa Food Prize Secretariat then assists the Africa Food Prize Committee to screen and select candidates.

The Africa Food Prize Committee chooses the Africa Food Prize winner by unanimous vote. The Prize Committee has absolute authority and its decisions cannot be overruled or appealed.

Nominations for the Africa Food Prize 2017 open ON 6TH March 2017 and close on Monday 5th June, 2017 . The winner for the Africa Food Prize 2017 will be awarded at the Africa Food Prize gala dinner on 6th September 2017 during AGRF in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
