Apply For Grants for Family Agriculture in West Africa 2016

Faced with the rapid growth of cities and increased demand from urban consumers that change the urban-rural relationships, family farming already in many places strengthens the capacity of a country or region to feed its urban population by local production and the strengthening of efficient short circuits.

The overall objective is to promote local initiatives to strengthen access to food for a viable African family farming and sustainable, to share the acquired larger scales and contribute to the documentation of the sustainability of this agricultural model. The specific objectives are:
  •  Improve and secure the production, processing, storage and marketing of agricultural products and to ensure access for poor urban consumers with innovative concrete actions;
  • Sharing between local, national and international actors, the knowledge gained through concrete actions supported under the program and draw global lessons

This call is limited to projects carried by a partnership between European and West-African non-profit legal entities, and taking place in the following countries:Benin, Burkina Faso, Cap-Verde, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo. Projects duration can range from 1 to 3 years. Starting date must occur before 31 December 2016.
